A Dash of Purple

Of course, it’s in my bucket list. I’m obsessed with flowers and fruits so going to a lavender farm has always been one of my wildest dreams. It was in our plan to go to Sandbanks in Prince Edward and since the lavender farm was on the way, we decided to pay a quick visit. Be warned, it’s not as stunning as those in France or UK, but it’s still a lavender farm so it’s good enough.

We went in early July, when the flowers were in season. There was an entrance fee of $5 which included access to the farm and free taste of some of their products. As you can see from the photo below, it really is a small farm but they do have different varieties of the plant. It was my first time see the white variety; I’ve always thought all lavenders were purple in colour.Read More

Adventures in Barrie

I just realized that two of my favourite things that I did this summer were done in Barrie, Ontario and so I decided to put them together in a single post. Last July, I and my family went fruit-picking. We’ve done it a million times before and we never get tired of it. It was our first time to visit this farm and it was so delightful. And then recently, I went aerial trekking with old and new friends. This one I’ve never done before but I’ve always longed to. It was terrifying, especially for someone who is acrophobic, but it also left me with an overwhelming feeling of gratification.

Part I

This was taken by the berry farm entrance. There are no extra fees such as parking or entrance; the only thing you need to pay for is the produce (prices are listed on their website). The farm offers a variety of fruits and vegetables but we specifically went there to pick blueberries and raspberries.Read More

A Little Advice To My NBSB Self

Do you have an embarrassing story re: your quest on finding love? I do. And if you’ve read Liz Gilbert’s Eat, Pray, Love, you’ll have an idea what I’m talking about. I don’t remember the day, but I do know it was late at night and everyone at home was already asleep. Except for me. I was kneeling on the floor, quietly weeping, desperately asking God to give me the man of my dreams. I was 19. And borderline crazy.

I guess you could say my prayer was answered because a year later I started dating this guy I met at work, who wore glasses and looked a bit like Daniel Radcliffe. Nope, I wasn’t a fan of Harry Potter. Read More

A Week In The Caribbean

With sand on my feet and salt in my hair, I (and my family) conquered Cuba. It all felt like home, really. The rush of warm breeze welcomed us as soon as we got off the plane and I instantly got caught up in nostalgia. We stayed at Hotel Be Live Turquesa in Varadero, a town in Matanzas, Cuba that is known for its resorts.Read More
